ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT INVISALIGN®
Invisalign is the most comfortable, discreet way to fix a variety of dental problems. Using a progressive series of thin, clear plastic aligners–each worn for approximately two weeks at a time–teeth are slowly adjusted into place.
Invisalign has many advantages over traditional metal braces, including comfort, ease of cleaning, and visual appeal. Because Invisalign aligners are not affixed to your teeth, they may be removed, providing significantly more freedom to eat, drink, and do as you wish! Dr Kooner and Dr Cancar, general dentists, are both certified Surrey Invisalign providers.
Do I have to wear the Invisalign® aligners all the time?
Invisalign aligners must be worn 20-22 hours each day, allowing you much more freedom than traditional braces.
What problems can Invisalign® fix?
Invisalign can correct many problems, including underbite/overbite, crowding, gapping, and crooked teeth. Your dentist will help determine if Invisalign is appropriate for your needs.
How long will treatment take?
Treatment length varies by patient, but is comparable to traditional braces. Average treatment time is roughly one year for adults.
How often should I come in for a cleaning during my Invisalign® treatment?
During Invisalign treatment we generally ask patients to come in for cleanings every 3 months. However, for patients with really good hygiene (ie. flossing after every meal, and not wearing Invisalign trays while eating or drinking) 6 months is ideal.
Eating and drinking (anything other than water) while wearing Invisalign trays can cause food and/or sugar to stick to teeth for extended periods of time. This can cause staining and even cavities in some cases. We ask patients to come in more often so we can monitor the health of the gums and teeth during Invisalign treatment.
Will I need a retainer afterwards?
As with traditional braces, you may require a retainer to maintain your new smile.
How much does Invisalign® cost?

Dr. Pavandeep Kooner General DentistDr. Kooner, general dentist, is dedicated and passionate about dentistry, and about providing gentle and quality care. Born and raised in Surrey BC; after graduating from Queen Elizabeth Senior Secondary she completed a Bachelor of Science degree at UBC, and then attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA., where she graduated with a degree in Dentistry and with an MBA.

Dr. Mirna Cancar General Dentist
From 1985 to 1992 Dr. Cancar, general dentist, worked as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry, in the area of Prosthodontics in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1994, after the war, Dr. Cancar, general dentist, immigrated to Canada, and became licensed to practice dentistry in Canada. She joined Green Apple Dental in 2009 and loves helping patients achieve a beautiful, healthy smile.
