Teeth Whitening
We’ll help you enhance your look and improve first impressions with a brighter, whiter smile.
Brighter teeth for a younger, more confident smile.
Over time, teeth often become yellow. Coffee, tea, and other substances can darken or stain your teeth below the surface, making it difficult to whiten them using over-the-counter bleaching products. Professional teeth whitening is safe, easy, and effective, and can leave you with a more vibrant, youthful appearance.
- Safe, gentle, and effective
- Whiten teeth by several shades
- Convenient in office and at-home treatments available
- Reusable trays for touch-ups
Additional Information about Teeth Whitening
Over time, coffee, tea, tobacco, and other food and drink can stain or yellow teeth, making your smile look older and duller. Professional teeth whitening systems are much more effective than over-the-counter bleaching kits, and can whiten your teeth by several shades in a matter of weeks.
We offer two methods of teeth whitening. The quickest way is In-office treatment. This is one visit of about 2.5 hours. The dentist will first assess your teeth to see if In-office whitening is suitable. If it is, we will begin by isolating your teeth, and then use a concentrated whitening gel and expose it to a special light to whiten and brighten your teeth. There may be sensitivity during the procedure.
The other option is through custom bleaching trays. Our simple bleaching system uses a custom-molded mouthguard or “tray” and a safe dental whitening gel. At-home treatment gives you control over everything from the timing of the treatment to the level of whiteness you achieve, and the reusable trays are good for touch-ups if your teeth begin to yellow again. We provide patients with two syringes of whitening gel to start. Additional whitening gel can be purchased for touch-ups as needed, so hold on to your trays!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Depending on the level of sensitivity, teeth whitening may not be recommended. You should discuss this directly with your dentist.
Whitening sometimes causes sensitivity during the treatment, but it generally subsides once treatment stops.
Over time your teeth may begin to yellow again, but touch-up treatments are simple and usually much shorter than the initial treatment.
We recommend the use of an electric toothbrush and regular cleanings to maintain your whiter smile. Also, minimizing exposure to foods and drinks that stain will keep teeth looking brighter. Remember, anything that will stain a white t-shirt will stain your teeth.
If you decide to have custom bleaching trays made, additional whitening gel can be purchased for a nominal charge. So remember to keep your custom trays in a safe place. Generally patients will “touch-up” their smile every year.
We have two options:
In-office whitening which is $450. This includes a polish and whitening with professional strength “bleach”. Please allow up to 2 hours for this appointment.
OR
At-home bleaching trays are normally $175. This includes custom trays and enough whitening gel for unto 2 weeks of at-home application. These trays should be kept for when a touch up is needed. Refill tubes of whitening gel can be purchased at our office.
